Il Cannone Silver Violin E Carbon Steel.
The new Il Cannone Silver set from Larsen Strings introduces a bold, shining voice to the Il Cannone family, designed for violinists seeking silvery brilliance, increased overtone content and superior projection. This set features five strings, including two distinct E strings to tailor the sound: the bold and powerful Silver E and the sparkling, focused Caprice E.
At the heart of Il Cannone Silver lies a focus on clarity and overtone-rich resonance, particularly in the upper register. The D and G strings are wound with high-grade 99.85% pure silver flat wire, ensuring exceptional brightness and purity of sound, while enhancing the richness and colours in the lower range. These premium materials not only add a distinctive tonal shine but also contributes to lasting stability and performance durability.
The A string is built upon the same innovative synthetic core as the D and G strings and is wound with precision aluminium flat wire. The Silver E and Caprice E strings both feature a removeable ball end and are made using a unique carbon steel.
The Il Cannone Silver is designed to respond swiftly under the bow, while offering nuanced control across dynamics and colour. It offers high bow resistance and a wide dynamic range with fast, articulate response while maintaining a flexible feel under the fingers. Its distinct sonic character is defined by radiant clarity and overtone-rich resonance - particularly in the upper register - making it a perfect choice for musicians performing in larger halls or seeking a more vibrant presence. This versatile five-string set includes two E-string options:
•Silver E – powerful, bold and silvery. Perfect for assertive tonal presence •Caprice E – sparkling, focused and brilliant. Ideal for instruments that benefit from added brilliance
With responsive playability and a vibrant tonal palette, Il Cannone Silver is a shining and powerful extension of the Il Cannone family - engineered to enhance modern performance with elegance and precision.
